Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA), an airline under Sun Group, officially launched its routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang on February 25, operating two flights per day.
SPA’s first commercial flight to Da Nang departed from Noi Bai International Airport at 6:15 AM on February 25. Four hours later, at 10:30 AM, a flight from Tan Son Nhat International Airport brought the airline’s first passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang.
Initially, the routes will operate two flights daily. Starting March 1, the airline will increase flight frequency to meet rising demand. Specifically, the Hanoi – Da Nang route will be increased from two to four flights per day.

According to the company, the addition of Sun PhuQuoc Airways to the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang routes provides residents and travelers with more choices in airlines, flight schedules, and services. This move also marks the first step in its broader plan to strengthen connectivity with Da Nang. Starting March 15, SPA is expected to launch the Da Nang – Phu Quoc route, further completing its network linking key tourism hubs.
The presence of Sun PhuQuoc Airways in Da Nang also opens up a seamless travel experience, directly connecting flights with the integrated resort and entertainment ecosystem of Sun Group.

Visitors can design their holidays at luxury resorts such as InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Novotel Danang Premier Han River, or Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills. At the same time, they can explore the Sun World Ba Na Hills complex, home to the iconic Cầu Vàng.
Currently, Da Nang is hosting the “Tulip Festival in the Clouds 2026,” along with a series of outdoor performances such as “Love in the Sky” and “Solar Warrior.” In May, the city will hold the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), sponsored and co-organized by Sun Group. The event brings together 10 fireworks teams, including newcomers such as Macau (China) and Japan. Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to become a key carrier bringing millions of visitors to the fireworks festival season along the Han River.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways is the first Vietnamese airline named after an island. The carrier operates under a hub-and-spoke network model, with Phu Quoc as its central hub, offering travel experiences closely connected to the resort and entertainment ecosystem of Sun Group on the “Pearl Island.”
As of the end of February 2026, the airline operates a fleet of 10 aircraft and has consistently led the entire industry in on-time performance (OTP) in December 2025 and January 2026. It has also completed all core safety and maintenance certifications required by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Alongside expanding its domestic and international network, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is developing its fleet, with a strong focus on wide-body aircraft. On February 18, in Washington, D.C. (USA), the airline signed a US$22.5 billion contract to purchase 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This marks the largest wide-body Boeing order in Vietnam’s aviation history to date.
With an intercontinental range of up to 14,010 kilometers, the Dreamliner fleet will serve as the foundation for SPA to establish direct routes from Phu Quoc to Europe, North America, and Northeast Asia. The airline aims to operate a total fleet of 100 aircraft by 2030.
